The project’s main mission was to complete the civil infrastructure works, including the construction of a retaining wall, to allow the Amazon Sorting Centre to be built and operational before the Christmas period. The project included utilities relocation and proactive on-site environmental protection measures.
Key Achievements
Complex infrastructure management – Winslow’s team demonstrated a great proficiency when managing multiple work zones and service installations. This was an asset to the project and resulted in a successfully accelerated delivery timeline working within a very aggressive program.
Traffic control – Traffic management was embedded into the Winslow project team, working in parallel with key internal disciplines and was actively involved in the early development of traffic management plans, traffic disruption management plans and the execution of work packs. Innovation was at the forefront of traffic management on this project.
Communication – One of the key success factors of the Amaroo project was the excellent standards of communication on-site. At every stage of the project from pre-commencement to Final Practical Completion, all correspondence between Winslow staff, subcontractors, shareholders, clients and authorities was held to a high standard. This was a key influence in keeping the project running smoothly and made every challenge a learning opportunity.
