Farm work leads to career in construction
Winslow is determined to provide opportunities by investing in our people.
The Winslow Way is to embrace lifelong learning, striving to pick up new skills and deepen capability over time, so we as a group can continue to outperform our competition and overdeliver for our clients.
Jacinta, Winslow Queensland’s newest Supervisor, began working in construction 15 years ago after working in farming where she operated machinery. She says this provided her with a solid foundation for a career in civil.
Jacinta was recently promoted to Supervisor on a major transport infrastructure project in South East Queensland, where Winslow is performing early works on Stage 1 South.
She said when she started working at Winslow, there were only three women in the field.
“Now, we have women working on nearly all our projects, and I’m happy to have been a part of that change,” she said.
