Hydration Safety campaign reminds field staff to drink up

Throughout February Winslow has actively promoted its Hydration Safety campaign with drink bottles distributed to field employees across the Group, who also have been involved in toolboxes about tips to avoid dehydration.

Working outdoors in summer, and often in heat, can be hazardous and can cause harm if not managed effectively.

One of the common effects of working in heat is the risk of dehydration. Men and women need between two and 2.5 litres of fluids daily to maintain hydration.

Research also suggests a strong connection between hydration and mental health, with inadequate water intake (dehydration) potentially leading to negative impacts on mood, cognitive function, and increased anxiety, while proper hydration can support emotional stability and better mental wellbeing.

Our new Am I drinking enough water? posters also provide some easy markers to keep people on track with adequate hydration with a link to some self-directed learning if people want to find out more.

Safety never stops at Winslow.
